Sunday 28th January - walks *** – Around Felixstowe – sunny periods.

Saturday 27th.

With red Saharan dust in the air I got up early and headed down to Felixstowe seafront to catch the sunrise and was treated to some amazing colours, top full moon too :) Down at the cliff at 7 I stayed around the pier snapping away and got some nice pics which seemed to be appreciated when I post ed them on Facebook. The only downside was when I walked up through the gardens next to the town hall home, the shelter was a mass of discarded bottles and broken glass, it amazes me that the human race has survived this long when there is absolutely no respect for this fragile world we live in:(
Then out son Dan, heis partner Jay and the lovely Maeva arrived late in the afternoon for a walk, heading down to a very busy prom we turned left to the Fludyers before turning inland to Allenby Park where Maeva really enjoyed her go on the swing, not so keen on the roundabout! Then home for a cuppa and yummy hot cross bun, nice day.

Sunday 28th.

No plans today, I had one eye on the wind but it was not enough for a foil so did my exercises instead before packing a picnic. We then drove down to the woods at The Grove with a quick stop at Homebase for compost, wont be long before Mag is out in the garden again. We both put our wellies on, good decision as it was very muddy in places. We walked around Abbey Grove first and soon spotted a squirrel and had our picnic on the bench in the clearing near the owl house. We then did a complete circuit of the woods with the snowdrops beginning to shoot and home for a cuppa and cake.
I then drove down to Felixstowe Ferry to see if we got a red sunset, it was OK but nothing overly special, I think there might have been more colour at the Dock view point? Still a top weekend, we are having Maeva tomorrow and hope to get out foiling later in the week!
